I especially like this sentence - "Spend your free time in bookstores, libraries, museums, strange neighborhoods, conferences where you meet interesting people, and the gym because you need to build some real muscle after fake farming all last year." I, too, was addicted to Farmville for a few months. I even bought a lot of the special items, although most of them weren't really useful. I stopped when I realized there would be no end to it (you'll never have enough land or enough money). Now, I spend most of my free time reading or attempting to write something creative. It certainly is more productive.

Sometimes it is more than simply changing channel like using the remote control on the TV. A better metaphor would be climbing up to a different viewpoint - and that can mean hard work.

Stupid is indeed an equal opportunity employer. And as you correctly point out, it is definitely not limited to the lower echelons of an organization. In fact, I would argue that some of the stupidest behaviors come straight from the top, exactly where they should know better. Are some CEO's so clueless or isolated that they don't think about the simple fact that they should always assume everyone will find out? I use the "Mother Test"... Would my mother approve of what I'm about to say or do? Works for me every time.

Interesting way of looking at things. To look at each individual as if they may have the key to some area of your life. I have always looked at role models like most people. Looking to that one successful individual in a particular area to model myself after. Could it possibly be better to take the good points from a bunch of people and make a better me?

I totally agree with this blog. It is great that technology has developed and everyone can easily contact each other or even advertise their companies, but at the same time there are some interpersonal relationship missing between these people. I have once read a research saying how people often negatively interpret emails. It is necessary for people to come up with some ways to overcome this problem about the online social networking.
